About Us

International Heritage Resources provides diverse cultural experts to create dynamic, substantive and relevant experiences for audiences.   By focusing on “relevancy,” visitors of diverse backgrounds connect with content, thus reinforcing constituent buy-in, reflected in new and expanded audiences, members, volunteers, and donors.

Sandy Bellamy, Esq., Principal

Beyond internalizing the nuts and bolts of her profession, Sandy Bellamy embraces her responsibility to use her knowledge, skills and position for the betterment of society … to be a social engineer.

Bellamy has brought her intellectual property knowledge and arts administration skills to organizations such as the Smithsonian Institution, the Walters Art Museum, the Solomon Guggenheim Museum, Washington Area Lawyers for the Arts, the Reginald F. Lewis Museum, as executive director, and currently, to International Heritage Resources, as principal.

While leading the first-ever endowment campaign for an African-American museum in the U.S. and carefully creating a diverse revenue stream, Bellamy focused on one key theme as she launched the new museum and its many exhibits and programs: RELEVANCY.

Bellamy wants visitors to feel, know and experience content and its relevancy to their lives… to recognize and connect with the integrity of not only an exhibit, but the entire museum experience. From architecture, to exhibits, public programs and retail, Bellamy digs deeper than the mission statement to articulate the salient traits of a cultural institution’s identity to create a multi-layered and substantive experience that immerses the visitor with mission and meaning.

Bellamy has more than 15 years of arts administration experience and is a practicing attorney.  Bellamy holds a juris doctorate with an intellectual property concentration and a bachelor's of arts management with an arts history concentration.
